In this class we will learn a handful of select licks from the great Sonny Boy Williamson II, AKA Rice Miller. SBII was one of my biggest influences when I began studying blues harp. I was attracted to his leathery tone and killer hand technique. He really knew how to make the harmonica talk and had his own approach and style.

Harmonica Keys: TBA (multiple keys).

We will be checking out and breaking down ideas from various songs and learning both 1st and 2nd position licks.

We will be learning licks from “Help Me”, “All My Love in Vain”, “Keep It to Yourself”, “Checking Up On My Baby” and “Ninety Nine”. I’ll also include at least two 1st position riff “Trust My Baby” and “Killin Me”
