Join Ronnie Shellist as he breaks down this gorgeous melody first recorded by Louis Armstrong. It’s truly a classic and there’s a nice slower tempo backing track on YouTube that you can use to practice and play along. The song is in the key of F so we will use a Bb harmonica (2nd position).
Besides breaking down the melody, I”ll cover 4 distinct techniques and show you how I use this to color and provide texture to the melody. We will first learn it with a single note (clean) approach and then mix in warbles, octaves, dirty notes and hand wah to spice it up. I will provide the tablature to this bluesy version of the melody. I hope to see you on Saturday!
